Nutrition is a funny thing for athletes. We’re healthy beings so we don’t pay enough attention to it. However, a better eating routine could arguable make the biggest impact on your performance.

So, here are 3 simple and actionable things you can do.

Have something right after exercise – A sports drink is good. A sports drink with a little protein is a little better. Other options: Fruit, Powerbar, Trail Mix, etc.

Eat Breakfast that contains protein – Eat breakfast and Make sure it has some protein.  Ex: eggs, greek yogurt, oatmeal with fruit and nuts, etc.

Eat a fruit or vegetable at every meal - Eat a fruit or vegetable at every meal. It is a very simple thing to do and it will make a big difference in the quality of your diet.  Most importantly you’ll gain a rejuvinated energy and recovery time will be much faster.

Add all three of these concepts to your day.  You might just do one for a week and then add one more. Simple actionable changes that you can stick to will make a difference and improve your performance.
