Coaching Development Program

Do you want to be a coach one day? Our Coach Development program is an opportunity to learn the Ins and Outs of the profession. This allows you to work alongside a qualified coach in the field by attending multiple practices, personal and team training sessions, and one-on-one instructions. It's a great way to gain experience.

Below are some current coaches in the Development Program...

Tatum Fredeen

PBA Intern
Home Town: Arkansas
Oral Roberts University
Major: Health and Exercise Science

"This is my senior year at Oral Roberts University, and I just finished my 18-year volleyball career with four years of competing NCAA D1.  I have been around sports since I was two years old, and believe that is what made me want to seek a degree in Health and Exercise Science.  I have always loved working out and seeing a transformation through the athletic process.  I'm excited to pursue this career and guide good athletes to become great!"

Emily Mercer

PBA Intern
Home Town: Missouri

"Throughout my 7 year Track and Field career, I've always been very passionate about the sport. I'm thrilled to be a part of Track and Field again and I hope to grow into a competent, compassionate, and motivational coach. Hurdles has been my main focus, but as I competed in heptathlon on a club team, and competed in Cross Country in high school as well, I have a basic knowledge of most events. I'm excited to keep growing in my experiences and sharing them with athletes through Personal Best Athletics."

Roxy Eddington

PBA Student Assistant
Home Town: Tulsa, OK
Bishop Kelley High School

"PBA...not only causes you to grow stronger physically but also to mature mentally, in that you learn the value of preparation and get to see yourself progress as an individual and also part of a team.  And I mean, come on...Run and Fun...they rhyme!" (our motto)

Shane Friend

PBA Intern
Home Town: Wyandotte, OK
Oral Roberts University
Major: Health and Exercise Science
Concentration: Exercise Specialist

"I'm a Senior at Oral Roberts University, interning with Personal Best Athletics.  I have been very active in sports and exercise since I can remember.  I want to help others get better not only in track but in life.   My goal is to make sure every athlete I work with reaches their potential and has fun while doing it."

Nick Russo

PBA Alumni and Intern
Home Town: Claremore, OK
Pittsburgh State University
Major: History and Kinesiology

"I have been with PBA for five years.  Throughout high school I competed in Pole Vault and won Oklahoma 5A State Championship my senior year.  I competed for Pittsburgh State University in Pittsburgh, KS.  I'm excited to share the same great experiences I had in PBA to future student-athletes, as I develop my coaching experience in this program."

Lillian McLeod

PBA Summer Intern
Home Town: Wichita, KS
Oral Roberts University

My name is Lillian McLeod, and I am originally from Wichita Kansas, but moved here to go to school at ORU! I am a Senior, graduating in the fall, and majoring in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Business. Interning with PBA to grow in my skills of coaching, leading, and learning about health!

Cassidy McIntire

PBA Summer Intern
Home Town: Chelsea, OK

University of Nebraska at Kerney

My name is Cassidy McIntire and I am currently a senior at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I graduated high school out of Chelsea, Oklahoma in 2016. I joined Personal Best Athletics as an athlete between my junior and senior year of high school. I was able to grow as both an athlete and as a person during my time with PBA, which allowed me to continue my track career at UNK. I have spent the past 14 years being a track and field athlete and was grateful to finish up my career at a Loper.  I will be graduating this summer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and I will also be attending Georgia Southern University in the fall to pursue my master’s in Sport and Exercise Psychology. I really look forward to having the opportunity to internship with PBA this summer, which allows me to continue to grow as a person and help give back to a club that provided me with so much.
